In 1997 PBS hosted a healthy discussion on the creation/evolution issue.  Since I have not seen this program, I cannot comment on it.  My comments will be limited to Morris' comments on the show.

The show had four creationists and four opponents that Morris calls anti-creationists.  Morris lists several claims from the show, none of which need comments.  The creationists included one of the leading Intelligent Design proponents, Michael Behe, and one of the leading anti-evolutionists, Phillip Johnson, author of several books against evolution.

In the end, Morris says the problem with the show is that none of the creationists were "biblical creationists."  In other words, they were not young earth creationists.  However, the guests listed are some highly regarded creationists.  They are, however, old earth creationists.  According to Morris, if you are not a young earth creationist, you are worthless.

Belief in young earth creationism is not required for one to be a biblical creationist.  For instance, I believe in an inerrant Bible, an infallible Bible, and I believe in a literal translation of Genesis.  The only difference I have with Morris is that I believe in long ages for creation, and he does not.  Time is our only disagreement.

Long ages does not compromise the Bible in any way.  It only compromises the young earth interpretation of the Bible.  However, the words of the Bible are still the same.

Morris says that he appreciates the work of these semi-creationists, but that "they fall short of a God-pleasing mark."  How haughty is it of Morris to suggest he alone knows what pleases God.  Morris insists upon his brand of creationism, but God does not.  God only requires belief in Jesus Christ.  The words of Billy Graham sum this up perfectly.  It doesn't matter what you think about creation, as long as you know the Creator.

If you are not a Christian, and you have been holding out on making a decision for Christ because the Church always preached a message that was contrary to what you saw in the scientific world, then rest assured that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God, and you can believe in Christ and receive salvation, while still believing in an old earth.  Click here for more.
