In answering this question, Morris relates his early experience with this term (political correctness) in the early 1980's.  He traces this term to its liberal roots, and claims that it was championed by "the queen of political correctness" Donna Shalala.  I don't know if this is correct, but it makes for interesting reading.

Morris lists several reasons why creationism is politically incorrect.  Before discussing, let me say that he is referring to his viewpoint, which is young earth creationism.  The first is that evolution is the foundation of being politically correct.  However, you can be a Christian and believe in evolution, therefore evolution is not a good reference point for political correctness.

The second is that of tolerance.  Since Christianity proposes absolute truth and morality, and others propose absolute freedom, they claim that Christians are not tolerant of others.  However, we recognize the right of everyone to be who they want to be...we just want them to know that there is a better way.

Morris ends the answer by saying that his organization, the Institute for Creation Research, will continue to be politically incorrect.

There is a third reason.  Scientists, and those educated enough to know, realize that young earth creationism is not true science.  Many scientists consider young earth creationists as idiots (old earth creationist scientists use more grace in dealing with them, however, and usually don't resort so such terms).  But with such a negative view, it is no wonder that young earth creationists are off in a corner by themselves.  While I myself am politically incorrect due to my conservative stance, it is not because of a failure to accept science.  It is merely based on the moral beliefs stemming from the Bible.  Belief in a particular scientific system is not grounds for political correctness or incorrectness.

If you are not a Christian, and you have been holding out on making a decision for Christ because the Church always preached a message that was contrary to what you saw in the scientific world, then rest assured that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God, and you can believe in Christ and receive salvation, while still believing in an old earth.  Click here for more.
