Question #97. Can Christian High School Students Survive Public School?

I guess they can, since Christians routinely graduate from public high schools.

Morris uses this to critique the public school system.  I agree that there are many problems with this system.  However, as with any office location, or any college or university, there is a great diversity of peoples, with many religious backgrounds.

Morris turns this into an answer that is strictly anti-evolutionist, as is typical of his works.  He uses the example of a person who "teaches students how to survive the evolutionary brainwashing" of the public school system (if only we had such a system in our churches to insulate our children from young earth creationism!).

The person quoted uses four questions to combat evolution.  Granted, these questions will no doubt work on high school students, who are not at a level of education required to correctly answer these questions from an evolutionist perspective.  Thus, in reality, they are brainwashing the teens, before they are brainwashed with evolution.

Why do young earth creationists see evolution as such a threat?  One of the main problems facing young earth creationism is the abandonment of it once the students reach college level.  They learn there are other, valid options, and since they were taught that either evolution or creation was right, but not both, they sadly choose atheistic evolution.  The young earth creationist system is to blame for this exodus of youth from our churches.

The solution is to teach children that they can believe in long ages and believe in an inerrant, infallible Bible.  Only then can this exodus from the church stop.  Young earth creationism is powerless to stop it, because they are the problem.

I highly encourage parents who are concerned about their children in the public school system to consider home schooling.  We have homeschooled our children from the beginning (12 years and counting), and we would have it no other way.

If you are not a Christian, and you have been holding out on making a decision for Christ because the Church always preached a message that was contrary to what you saw in the scientific world, then rest assured that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God, and you can believe in Christ and receive salvation, while still believing in an old earth.  Click here for more.
