This article is written by Professor A. M. Hasofer, a Jewish scientist.  It was published in Ex Nihilo to give the readers an idea of how orthodox Jews approach the creation controversy.

He starts out by saying that Jews are free to accept or reject evolution, based on how they personally feel about it.  Then he goes into his reasoning for rejecting evolution, thus he is a young earth Jewish believer.

However, since all Jews are free to decide for themselves, as Professor Hasofer notes, his position can hardly be construed as the norm for the orthodox Jew.  However, the editors of Ex Nihilo would have you believe that.

When considering the Jewish faith and creation in 2006, one must immediately think of the most well-known Jew within the creation issue today, Dr. Gerald Schroeder.  He is an old earth creationist.

If you are not a Christian, and you have been holding out on making a decision for Christ because the Church always preached a message that was contrary to what you saw in the scientific world, then rest assured that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God, and you can believe in Christ and receive salvation, while still believing in an old earth.  Click here for more.
