G1212:  Vollosovitch and Dima mammoths yielded inconsistent C-14 dates

Edited by Greg Neyman

Carbon dating from frozen mammoth carcasses revealed that different parts of the same mammoth dated many thousands of years apart

Source:   Brown, Walt, 2001. In the beginning: Compelling evidence for creation and the Flood (7th ed.) Center for Scientific Creation.
Hovind, Kent, n.d. Doesn't carbon dating or potassium argon dating prove the Earth is millions of years old?

  1. Analysis of the sources reveal that the dates come from different mammoths

  2. In one case, a date is known to be invalid because the hide was soaked in glycerin.  The YEC claimants still quoted the date

  3. A review of the Dima mammoth reveals all the dates were consistent.  The source of the young earth claims for the bad dates is unknown
