G1211:  Variable C-14/C-12 ratio invalidates C-14 dating.

Edited by Greg Neyman

Carbon dating is based on the ratio of C-14/C-12 in the atmosphere.  This ratio varies, therefore carbon dating is not valid.  Wrong dates come from assuming a wrong initial C-14/C-12 ratio.

  1. This has been recognized by geochronologists since 1969, and other methods, such as dendrochronology (tree ring dating) has been used to calibrate the ratios to more than 11,000 years ago

  2. Calibration of radiocarbon dating with isochron dating of corals extends back to 30,000 years

  3. Calibration of radiocarbon dating with isochron dating of varves extends back to 45,000 years
