Digging Is a Snap

10 March 2006

The 10 March 06 daily feature for the young earth creation science ministry Creation Moments discusses the symbiotic relationship between the shrimp and a small fish called a goby.

The author says that they rely on each other.  Then, he goes on to explain how the shrimp is designed for digging tunnels, in which the goby fish hides.  Numerous explanations of the shrimp abound, but nothing about the goby.

It is clear from the article how the goby benefits from the shrimp, by hiding in its tunnels.  However, no data is given to support that claim that the shrimp benefits from the goby.  Early on, the author says the blind shrimp relies upon the goby like a seeing eye dog.  Nothing of this relationship is explained.

As Christians we should thank God for our the intricate relationships that He gave his creatures.  However, for the evolutionist, there is no problem explaining this relationship from an evolutionary standpoint.

This is typical of Creation Moments claims.  It is strictly a "God of the Gaps" type emotional argument.  Presenting such an argument in defense of creation is a pointless exercise in futility...it will strengthen those who already believe, but will do nothing to argue for your position with the atheist or old earth creationist.
