Your Multi-Purpose Nose

     The 5 January 06 daily feature for the young earth creation science ministry Creation Moments discusses our wonderful nose.

     The author tells about how the human nose provides us with many sensory inputs which are directly linked to the area of our brain that generates and controls emotions.  The nose also filters out harmful particles, and even contains a small amount of iron in the bony part between the eyes, giving us a limited ability to sense direction from the earth's magnetic field.

   As Christians we should thank God for giving us our nose, and the wonderful abilities it possesses that enhance our lives.  However, this claim is typical of Creation Moments claims.  It is strictly a "God of the Gaps" type emotional argument (this is wonderful...God must have done it).  Presenting such an argument in defense of creation is a pointless exercise in futility...it will strengthen those who already believe, but will do nothing to argue for your position with the atheist or old earth creationist.
