Nye-Ham Debate - Wow, according to AiG, the interest in this debate is amazing.  CNN correspondent moderating, 70 media people attending, over 10,000 churches streaming.  They estimate over a million will watch the debate Tuesday night.  Unfortunately, young earth creationism does not deserve such a large spotlight, since it is not the truth.  Can Bill Nye win?  In the eyes of the YEC, he has already lost!  The debate will go on, both sides claiming victory, yet AiG will rake in the bucks from DVD sales, not to mention the massive amounts of publicity they are receiving.  Giving a large stage to YECs...this is exactly why we should not debate them.  It gives them more attention than their failed theory deserves.

News to Know: How the Scorpion Got Its Sting - AiG puts its YEC spin on a news report about how the scorpion's sting evolved.  The original article appears sound, proposing a valid answer to how the scorpion sting evolved.  The YEC response is that this labwork does not prove that it happened in nature.  True enough...but then, NO amount of labwork can prove evolution to a YEC...even if the labwork is sound.

Did Humans Evolve from a Fish out of Water? - This AiG article reports on two science reports about the development of air breathing in ancient fish.  True to YEC form, they dispute the evolutionary claims of the reports.

Parícutin - Describes a volcanic event in Mexico in 1943, and then claims (paraphrasing) that since this mount only took 9 years to form, then uniformitarian geologists are wrong when they state the earth's features take millions of years to form.  Unfortunately, this ignores one key feature of uniformitarianism. Uniformitarianism also includes catastrphism. The geologic record is full of catastrophic events.  However, these events are separated by many, many years.  This is an example of an all-too-common YEC argument.

Did you know that you can be a Christian, and believe that the earth is billions of years old?  You can even believe in evolution and be a Christian.  There is no conflict between science and the Bible...all one needs is a proper understanding how to merge science and the Bible.  To learn more about old earth creationism, see Old Earth Belief, or check out the article Can You Be A Christian and Believe in an Old Earth?

Feel free to check out more of this website.  Our goal is to provide rebuttals to the bad science behind young earth creationism, and honor God by properly presenting His creation.
