Evolution: Scripture and Nature Say No! - 1 February. Review of the book Evolution: Scripture and Nature Say Yes! AiG is obligated to say no, no matter what the scientific evidence shows, because it goes against their teachings (and their bottom line...money)

New Study: Liberal Theology Doesn’t Save Shrinking Congregations - 2 February. True...liberal theology by itself will not undo the damage done by many years of YEC teaching.

Patriarchs of the Forest - 1 February.  Reprint from Creation Magazine in 2002. Discusses trees, and specifically, why none are older than the flood.  In reality, there are older plants than the YEC date of the flood. From Wikipedia:  clonal colony organisms, such as the 80,000-year-old Quaking Aspen (Populus tremuloides) clonal colony named "Pando" in the Fish Lake National Forest in south-central Utah; the 11,700-year- old Creosote bush (Larrea tridentata) clonal colony, named "King Clone", in the Mojave Desert near the Lucerne Valley in California; and the 9,500-year-old Norway spruce (Picea abies) clonal colony named "Old Tjikko" in Sweden.

Treasure in the Trinity - 2 February. Not related to age of the earth.

Birth control leader Margaret Sanger: Darwinist, racist and eugenicist: 3 February

Old Earth Ministries Featured Article of the Week

World's Oldest Trees and Creationism

Science News of Interest to Creationists (Summaries from ScienceDaily.com and other sources)

Myth busted: No link between gigantic asteroid break-up, rise in biodiversity - Some 470 million years ago, during the middle part of the geological period known as the Ordovician, an asteroid collision took place somewhere between Mars and Jupiter. The collision caused an explosion that sent a cascade of meteorites towards Earth.

Dwarf planet Ceres may have vanishing ice volcanoes - A recently discovered solitary ice volcano on the dwarf planet Ceres may have some hidden older siblings, say scientists who have tested a likely way such mountains of icy rock -- called cryovolcanoes -- might disappear over millions of years.

Evidence of 2 billion years of volcanic activity on Mars -  Analysis of a Martian meteorite found in Africa in 2012 has uncovered evidence of at least 2 billion years of volcanic activity on Mars. This confirms that some of the longest-lived volcanoes in the solar system may be found on the Red Planet.

Low level of oxygen in Earth's middle ages delayed evolution for two billion years -  A low level of atmospheric oxygen in Earth's middle ages held back evolution for 2 billion years, raising fresh questions about the origins of life on this planet. New research explains how oxygen was trapped at such low levels.

Good ribbance: Dinosaur rib bones reveal remnants of 195-million-year-old protein Is fossilized rock all that remains when a dinosaur decomposes? New research provides the first evidence that proteins have been preserved within the 195-million-year-old rib of the sauropodomorph dinosaur Lufengosaurus.

The making of Antarctica -  One of the big mysteries in the scientific world is how the ice sheets of Antarctica formed so rapidly about 34 million years ago, at the boundary between the Eocene and Oligocene epochs.

Tracing the cosmic web with star-forming galaxies in the distant universe -   A research group has revealed a picture of the increasing fraction of massive star-forming galaxies in the distant universe. Massive star-forming galaxies in the distant universe, about 5 billion years ago, trace large-scale structure in the universe. In the nearby universe, about 3 billion years ago, massive star-forming galaxies are not apparent. This change is consistent with the picture of galaxy evolution established by other independent studies.

Mechanism for photosynthesis already existed in primeval microbe -   A Japanese research team has discovered an evolutionary model for the biological function that creates carbon dioxide from glucose in photosynthesis. They found the mechanism in a primitive, non-photosynthesizing microbe.

500-million year-old species offers insights into the lives of ancient legged worms -  A new species of lobopodian, a worm-like animal with soft legs from the Cambrian period (541 to 485 million years ago), has been described for the first time from fossils found in the Burgess Shale in the Canadian Rocky Mountains.

Cosmic dust that formed our planets traced to giant stars -  Scientists have identified the origin of key stardust grains present in the dust cloud from which the planets in our Solar System formed, a study suggests.

Did you know that you can be a Christian, and believe that the earth is billions of years old?  You can even believe in evolution and be a Christian.  There is no conflict between science and the Bible...all one needs is a proper understanding how to merge science and the Bible.  To learn more about old earth creationism, see Old Earth Belief, or check out the article Can You Be A Christian and Believe in an Old Earth?

Feel free to check out more of this website.  Our goal is to provide rebuttals to the bad science behind young earth creationism, and honor God by properly presenting His creation.
