A Summary of YEC/OEC Website Activity

Answers in Genesis

Does a "Recently Deciphered 4,000-Year-Old Tablet" Discredit the Genesis Account of Noah's Ark? - AiG addresses a recent news item concerning Noah's Ark.  This article has no bearing on the age of the earth.

Creation Museum Free to Kids in 2014 - AiG wants to indoctrinate children in YEC doctrine, and they are willing to do it for free!  AiG needs children to grow up as YECs, ensuring continued financial support.

Creation Ministries International

Homology Made Simple - Homology with a YEC spin.  True, evolutionists do not understand everything there is to know about homology...that doesn't mean evolution is false.  This argument is like an 'argument from ignorance.'  Many YEC arguments fit into this category.  If we don't fully understand evolution, then YEC must be true, right?

Do You Really Believe God? - This editorial from Creation Magazine tells the story of the YEC writer's encounter with a Christian who accepted the old age of the earth.  The obvious implication in the title is that OEC's do not really believe God.  The correct statement for OEC's would be that we do not believe in the YEC interpretation of God's Word.  It's not a matter of believing God's Word...it's a matter of how we interpret it.

Did Adam Sin out of Love for Eve? - from 26 January.  Examines some feedback sent to CMI about a previous article.  No impact to the age of the earth.

Claimed Dark Matter 'Find' Won't Help End 'Big Bang' Crisis - This article from 25 January reports on an online article about the discovery of dark matter.  It briefly talks about the claim, and then lists 22 problems with the big bang.  The author (John Hartnett) claims in the title that the big bang is in a crisis...a crisis that no secular or old earth Christian scientists know about!  CMI followed this up with a post on Facebook, linking another article from 2007, the title of it is "Bye-Bye, Big Bang?" Here we are six years after CMI wrote this, and the Big Bang is just as strong as ever, despite the wailings of YEC theorists.  They have been attacking the Big Bang for 50+ years, and despite their constant claims that its in trouble, it's still alive and well.

Institute for Creation Research

Interest in Origins Stays Strong - ICR provides more publicity for the Ham/Nye debate.  Not much interesting here, except the snub of progressive creationists.  ICR says "Clearly, the United States is home to large factions of each of the three strikingly different concepts of origins: Recent creation according to the Bible, evolution guided by God, and atheistic evolution." However, there is a fourth, progressive creation, in which God created the world over the last 4.5 billion years, and created each life form as a unique creation, without the use of evolution.  This view is held in the United States by millions of people.  It is clearly seen as a clear threat to the YEC belief, so not giving it due credit is merely an attempt to marginalize its impact in today's church.

Did you know that you can be a Christian, and believe that the earth is billions of years old?  You can even believe in evolution and be a Christian.  There is no conflict between science and the Bible...all one needs is a proper understanding how to merge science and the Bible.  To learn more about old earth creationism, see Old Earth Belief, or check out the article Can You Be A Christian and Believe in an Old Earth?

Feel free to check out more of this website.  Our goal is to provide rebuttals to the bad science behind young earth creationism, and honor God by properly presenting His creation.
