Creation Science in the Media

This section lists articles that appear in newspapers, magazines, online news sites, and in television. Some may be very negative towards Christianity.

Answers in Genesis

Grandmother Fish Indoctrinates Kids with Evolution - 24 January. Ham warns YEC parents about a book.

Staph Bacteria from First Breath: The Interweaving of the Nasal Microbiome with the Intricate and Complex Nose - 25 January. AiG gets technical to impress their readers.  Simply a 'god of the gaps' article.

Noah’s Ark: Fairy Tale and Anti-Science? - 26 January. Response to a letter making fun of AiG.

Buddhism - 27 January.  Reprint of a chapter from one of their books, World Religion and Cults. Kind of ironic, since YEC qualifies as a cult itself.

The Mysterious Spleen - 28 January.  Technical god of the gaps article.

How to Prevent Losing Another Generation - 29 January.  Ham laments that 'twentysomethings' are leaving the church. His answer...stand firm on faith with a healthy dose of YEC.  Too bad he is blind to the fact that YEC is the root cause of people leaving.

Abortion and the Origins Debate - 22 January.  Takes issue with secular evolutionism.

Creation Ministries International

Creation is Just the Beginning 23 January. An editorial plugging the upcoming issue of Creation Magazine.

Censorship of Happy Down Syndrome Children - 24 January. Non age of the earth issue.

Unfolding the Plan - 25 January. Reprint from a Creation magazine article in 1998. Concludes "These chapters (Genesis) are totally reliable and may not be manipulated to make them conform to the temporary wisdom of any particular age." Manipulation equates to 'interpretation,' making this a dig at old earth compromisers. YEC's elevate their 'interpretation of Genesis to infallibility, but as we all know, YEC is nothing more than a man-made interpretation of Genesis.

Does the new much-faster-speed-of-light theory fix the big bang’s problems? - 26 January. Reports on a new study proposing a faster speed of light in the early universe.

Precambrian impacts and the Genesis Flood: 27 January. Another geologic article by CMI's meteorologist. Claims that pre-Cambrian meteor impacts actually occurred at the beginning of Noah's Flood and was responsible for starting it by releasing the 'fountains of the deep.' This article is complete conjecture with no supporting scientific evidence to support his theory (made me laugh too!).

Archaeology Supports the Bible - 28 January.  Not age of the earth related.

Institute for Creation Research

Pregnant Mom Transfers Famine Info to Baby - 23 January, by Randy Guliuzza.  The author summarizes a scientific report, finally stating: "These findings tend to confirm design-based creationist theory that emphasizes active, problem-solving organisms capable of self-adjusting to fill dynamic environments."

What Was the Star of Bethlehem? - 26 January.  Video clip of Jason Lisle.

Science News of Interest to Creationists (Summaries from ScienceDaily.com and other sources)

Star Birth with a Chance for Winds? The lesser-known constellation of Canes Venatici (The Hunting Dogs), is home to a variety of deep-sky objects -- including this beautiful galaxy, known as NGC 4861. Astronomers are still debating on how to classify it. While its physical properties -- such as mass, size and rotational velocity -- indicate it to be a spiral galaxy, its appearance looks more like a comet with its dense, luminous 'head' and dimmer 'tail' trailing off. Features more fitting with a dwarf irregular galaxy.

Climate Change Helped Kill Off Super-Sized Ice Age Animals in Australia During the last Ice Age, Australia, Tasmania and New Guinea formed a single landmass, called Sahul. It was a strange and often hostile place populated by a bizarre cast of giant animals

Cosmic lenses support finding on faster than expected expansion of the universe By using galaxies as giant gravitational lenses, an international group of astronomers using the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope have made an independent measurement of how fast the universe is expanding. The newly measured expansion rate for the local Universe is consistent with earlier findings. These are, however, in intriguing disagreement with measurements of the early universe. This hints at a fundamental problem at the very heart of our understanding of the cosmos.

Earth's orbital variations, sea ice synch glacial periods New research shows how sea ice growth in the Southern Hemisphere during certain orbital periods could control the pace of ice ages on Earth.

Scientists map the genetic evolution of dinoflagellates for the first time Scientists have used new genetic sequencing data to understand how an ancient organism that lived alongside the dinosaurs has evolved over millions of years. The effort has uncovered for the first time the biology and evolution of dinoflagellates, tiny but complex organisms primarily known as marine plankton. The findings could lead to a better understanding of how bioluminescence works, how to turn off harmful red tides, or how to identify areas rich with oil.

Ancient, scary and alien-looking specimen forms a rarity in the insect world -- a new order Researchers have discovered a 100-million-year-old insect preserved in amber with a triangular head, almost-alien and 'E.T.-like' appearance and features so unusual that it has been placed in its own scientific 'order' -- an incredibly rare event.

First-ever discovered trilobite eggs paired with fossil of the segmented creature  For the past two years, scientists have been conducting research on what are believed to be the first-ever discovered trilobite eggs paired with a fossil of the segmented creature.

Rare meteorites challenge our understanding of the solar system  Researchers have discovered minerals from 43 meteorites that landed on Earth 470 million years ago. More than half of the mineral grains are from meteorites completely unknown or very rare in today's meteorite flow. These findings mean that we will probably need to revise our current understanding of the history and development of the solar system.

80-million-year-old dinosaur collagen confirmed  Utilizing the most rigorous testing methods to date, researchers have isolated additional collagen peptides from an 80-million-year-old Brachylophosaurus.

Did you know that you can be a Christian, and believe that the earth is billions of years old?  You can even believe in evolution and be a Christian.  There is no conflict between science and the Bible...all one needs is a proper understanding how to merge science and the Bible.  To learn more about old earth creationism, see Old Earth Belief, or check out the article Can You Be A Christian and Believe in an Old Earth?

Feel free to check out more of this website.  Our goal is to provide rebuttals to the bad science behind young earth creationism, and honor God by properly presenting His creation.
